Our CDM is aligned with Chapter 6 of the Paris Agreement 2015
In Chapter 6 of the Paris Agreement, it is established that Parties may voluntarily cooperate in the implementation of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to achieve greater ambition in their mitigation and adaptation measures and promote sustainable development and environmental integrity. In particular, it mentions that:
Parties participating in cooperative approaches that involve the use of internationally transferred mitigation outcomes shall ensure environmental integrity and transparency and apply robust accounting to ensure, inter alia, the avoidance of double counting.
A mechanism is established to contribute to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and support sustainable development, which may be used by Parties on a voluntary basis. This mechanism also incentivizes and facilitates the participation of public and private entities authorized by the Parties.
Emission reductions generated shall not be used to demonstrate the achievement of the host Party’s NDC if another Party uses them to demonstrate its own NDC achievement.
This indicates that private companies can participate in these mechanisms, register their offsets, and make them public, as long as transparency conditions are met and double counting is avoided.
